Boss Models was founded in 1988 by British photographer David Bosman. The agency quickly captured the attention of the industry through its unique approach to boutique model management and focused marketing. Boss launched the careers of a new generation of male models who were to become the male “supermodels” of the 1990s. Marcus Schekenberg, Joel West, Rupert Everett, Ian Somerhalder all started their careers under the management of Boss Models. Within four years time the company had opened branches in New York, London, Miami and South Africa. A small women’s division was opened to manage select top models including Tanya Bird, Amber Valetta, and Jasmine Sanders.
Upon Mr. Bosman’s death in 2012, Sarah Whicker was named director of Boss Models New York. Our unique approach to personalized management remains at the core of the business’s philosophy. We are focused on developing models for international fashion markets as well as commercial clients casting in the New York City area.
